Welcome
Funnily enough it seems that for everyday driving the stock Toyota pads are a good option. They have good bite even at speeds in excess of the motorway limits. I know some guys that have even used a new set of Toyota pads on a track day and come away with no major issues.
If you do want something with a little more bite then, Portefields (sold by a few people) seem to be a good option. Or if not any of the pads sold by the Japanese tuning companies, TRD, Apexi, Endless (not cheap), etc.
One too avoid, any of the EBC Red\Green\Blue stuff pads. They just don't seem to stand up to the punishment that the Supra gives them.

No not myself, but others on here have.
I have TRD-HPZ's in mine, but these are no longer available http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

I was wondering weather alternative pads
were worth the extra money
I use the car every day to go to work but will try and go on at least one track day this year
I never liked the EBC pads from when I used to have a motor bike and I usualy stear clear of the cheep pads as I found out to my cost when I had a mkiii

I am using Porterfield 'race' pads in the smaller japs spec brakes and to me they quite amazing, quick warmup and excellent bite/power.
I was on a real mission before to convert to UK brakes but since I put the Porterfields in im not that bothered...

I have a UK car which I bought with the standard pads.
After brake fade on a track day I bought a set of Porterfield Race spec pads which don't fade but do produce a fair bit of dust and can be a bit noisey not to mention hard on your discs.
After the second set of these last only about 3000 miles (no track days) I switched to the pads supplied by Chris Wilson.
BIG improvement for general driving, quick warm up, no squeal, no dust and plenty of laps of Brands Hatch without fade ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
If you have the money and drive your car hard I would go with the CW pads.
