does the bigger brakes have 'supra' written on them?

Yes - the disc is also 324mm in diameter as opposed to the ~290mm of the J-spec one.

before i jump for joy. Mine is a j spec 94. it has brakes with supra written on them. Not measured it and not going out ( snowing). Please comfirm please!

Supra can ONLY be written on the UK spec brakes - the J-spec one don't have room or a flat surface to write it on.

Hmmmm not true.

The later jap spec sliding calipers also had Supra written on them. But there is a good chance if yours is a 94 and has Supra written on the calipers that it has the larger ones. What size are your wheels ?

Never seen that Martin, sorry if I am wrong, but Chewy "should" be ok.

they're 18's. did read that only a few 17's fit the big brakes. Lets hope your right alex.

True, ive got a 2000 manual TT with 'Supra' written on them and the 'oh so tiny' brakes on 17" http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/down.gif

It's unusual to get such a late car with the smaller brakes on isn't it?! Plus, you've got 17's...are they factory wheels? Again, late Jap spec Supras fitted with factory 17's nearly always have the bigger brakes too, or at least in my experience anyway. I too have seen more than a few small brake cars with the Supra logo....

Nathan, yeah a real bugger that. I knew they were going to be the small ones when i bought it, although as you say, most of the late ones do have the larger brakes.

It didnt bother that much as i was going to change them, but it just means i'll NEED to change them earlier.
I'm a bit hard on my brakes, hence the change.
