Toyota do a nice neat job of wiring your car. However, their earthing is crap to say the least. (Vauxhall do this very nicely). I for years have fitted my own simple earthing kits. I use some 8 or 4 gauge hi grade car audio earth wire and gold plated ends to replace the standard battery to body earth connection. I clean the paint from under one of the strut mount bolts, grease it lightly and fit the wire. The results are less light fade when going down the revs to tickover, brighter headlights, less or no whine if using a higher grade stereo setup. I have now continued through the car cleaning the paint off from underneath each earth ring. Think about it, if you put an earth ring term on to a painted surface then only the threads of the bolts are going to break the paint and give the connection. You could also invest in a fancy earthing kit, or make your own!. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I think these fancy earthing kits are money for old rope, IMO

What you have done by cleaning up and tightening each earthing point i'm sure will yield just as good a results. I've seen some dyno plots on these fancy kits where they supposedly yield and extra 3-4bhp but what they don't tell you is the state of the original earth connections.

If you do fit one of these fancy coloured aftermarket kits, make sure that you use good solid earthing points, not things like bolts holding on the wings.

anyone thinking of gaining BHP this way is wasting their time, however the other benefits are worth it, best bet is the single 8 gague cable, battery to solid earth point (strut top mount etc)
