Hi all, I'm still in search of a nice Supra.... just about given up hope of finding a low milage manual UK model, so have been searching the imports.
Found a nice sounding RZ-S, could do with with some help/advice though ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/worship.gif

Its a 93/L and is up for 15k. Milage is around 35k miles. BIMTA cert.
Copy and paste time!

"No accident damage, completely original panels and paint work. (All paper work available on request). Both interior and exterior are in near new condition. Totally immaculate.

Standard Spec:6 speed manual, Coupe, ABS, Climate control, Central Locking, Power steering, Air Bag, Electric windows and mirrors. Mirrors are also retractable. Traction control and Slip control, Sports Interior, Fitted mats, rear spoiler in car entertainment system.

Aftermarket Spec:As you can see by the photo's a huge amount of time and effort have gone into making this a real show piece. ?1000's upon ?1000's have been spent. All aftermarket parts have also been fitted to a very high standard. Parts include

TOP SECRET Body kit, front bumper, side skirts, and rear skirts
18inch VOLKS RACING ALLOYS. These are split rim items. Extremely expensive, and light in weight. Colour combinations really goes well. Never seen this wheels in the UK, very original (can be refurbed to silver)
Performance low profile tyres, all good
Greddy Front Mount Intercooler, many times larger than standard item
Believed to be Greddy stainless steel exhaust system
OHLINS suspension, again a very expensive set-up, suspension looks to be relatively new. More details on arrival
ERLS oil cooler
GReedy adjustable Blow-Off valve (Dump valve)
Twin Induction kit with hard piping
Hard piping to intercooler and induction kit, improves air flow and boost
Clear front indicators
Recaro drivers seat
Leather MOMO style sports steering wheel (refer to photo's)
GReedy gauges x 3, oil, water, boost gauges. These are incased in carbon fibre, nicely done
Electronic boost controller (GReddy)
Turbo timer, know the manufacturer on arrival
Aluminum gear knob
Large Boost guage
Double bin CD/TAPE player.
Amp and subwoofer (ask for photo's). These are all high quality items
CD Multi changer"

Thats the info I've been emailed along with a dozen or so photos, including auction slip (4A ie 4.5)

Any techheads see/read anything of concern there? I know the drivers seat is nasty but you can't win em all and I would like to get a supra sometime this year lol

Be honest and feel free to point out anything that sounds/looks dodgy please ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

My thoughts are that 15k is a lot for a 93, but is it worth paying the extra for a minter thats also got the basics done therefore saving me 1000's in the long run?

Cheers for any help,
Steve.

Hi Steve,

The bodywork looks very good, a bit grubby under the bonnet though.

Good low mileage

Some nice extras on the car, which yes will save you some money if you are happy with those mods on the car.

I would still say the price is on the higher side though. If I was you I would like to know how long ago these mods were fitted to the car.

Are you sure you wouldn't like a newer car? Rico purchased a 98 manual supra for around 15k

Its a nice looking car and certainly damn low miles. That Greddy BOV is quite old, not seen one like that for a while.

All in all it may not be a bad car, but i also think its priced a bit on the high side.

I also think thats too much for a 93 car...I'd want a VVTI for that sort of dosh......

Have a look @ motormall.co.uk. My car came from them and they were very reasonable. Have a look at the reserved 6 speed on there, very nice car. They will source you a car and haggle on prices...HTH.

Thnx for the advice everyone... you've confirmed what I was thinking really, but you know what its like when u see a shiny motor http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Back to looking then
Cheers for the link as well Darren, they look well priced. Was your experience with them a good one then? Good to deal with before and after etc..?

Does look nice - I'd expect that bov to leak a bit so that would need replacing...but other than that it looks good. but as pointed out you could get a much newer one (with less mods) for similar/lower price.

Yep they are good blokes. They seem to do the SVAing for nearly every importer in the south so they know the score. I had to take my VVTI back to them (one of the magic boxes played up) and they were sound. I think they have got a 98/S VVTI tiptronic (F1 paddles) for sale at the mo and these are worth a drive before you decide you def want a 6 speed (IMHO anyway and a few others who have tried em!http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif.

Good luck...

By the way I have a mate who visits and buys engines in Japan and he says never buy a car thats been modified in Japan because most of them take them to the track every weekend and abuse the hell out of them. They cant use them on the roads in the same way we do...

Slick,

Alright, mines an '93 auto, but landed with 18,000kms grade 4 (cos of pearl re-spray, well, only thing I can find anyway 'cept for the odd stone chip) ?7,100

When I bought mine, Manuals were going for 20%-30% more. The cost of aftermarket stuff doesn't really come into the price in japan, its the basic car you are buying. So the place selling a 93 manual for ?15k is getting a huge markup.

And he doesnt even have to SVA it. Small fortune saved again !!

Thanks for the info everyone.
Going to view a UK TT afterall http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif (this sunday). Its done 66k and is an auto, not had an auto before and 'instinctively' wanted a manual but I think I'm gona get used to the idea of not using my leftie as much hehe. Wish me luck!

PS anything that screams CHECK ME! Used to buying cars a little newer than this (95) so any tips will be more than welcome.

Yes, the autos are really nice and laid back in that GT sort of way, yet still brilliant for spirited driving. As a daily-driver, an auto makes a lot of sense on todays roads anyway.

Good luck on the test drive! http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
