Band expanders

hey guys. finally picked up the car. dealer did not get band expander put in!! bummer?!

Any1 have experience putting one in? Read the tech articles on the net, and it looks straight fwd enough.

Also, not factory fitted stereo, its a after markert kenwood. any suggestions on type of expander to use?

btw Martin, that was a beautiful set of pic on how to take apart your dash!! Its from the origianl mkiv site I see!

Band expanders are simple. Unplug your aerial from back of stereo. plug expander into now empty aerial socket on stereo, plug aerial into other side of expander and find a +12v Ignition feed. ( gets earth from aerial socket. ) Mine cost ?10 and works fine. the only annoying thing is the stereo shows 76.4mhz when listening to radio 1 on 97.9mhz.

Now.... bear with me guys, I am THE ultimate newbie, how do I "find a +12v Ignition feed" and what do I do with it. SOrry, but really need idiot-proof directions!
