I have just been told on good authority that my beautiful black supra handles like a beached whale and i need new shocks and selected bushes etc. i dont want to go standard so any advice on best adjustable coilovers to use for fast road work and what should i expect to pay for them fitted. ta

Bushes have to be stock - there is no other option - but they are in no way a bad option.
If you want really good Coilovers try JIC Magic FLT-2's About ?1800. If you just want a very good suspension setup and all you want is a 20-30mm suspension drop then a Chris Wilson custom setup is the way to go (he'll supply and fit all parts) and the suspension kit is about ?1000+the bushes+fitting charge.

There are aftermarket bushes available for the MKIV now, from TRD and a couple of other people.

Also TEIN have a good selection of coilovers, a lot of it comes down to that old Devil cash http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Tein tend to be very harsh in my experience...Didn't think there was a full bush replacement kit - doing half a job isn't a good option imo. Is the TRD one any good? (poly bushes are no good - according to he who must be obeyed on suspension setup)

Ahhh well you never said anything about the construction of the bushes .... http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

There's a poly set available from here http://www.tmengineering.net/suspension/r2racing/index.html

Do you reckon i can find the TRD set now as well ? Can i 'eck, but i've defenitely seen one.

Also i thought that Powerflex had at long last made a set as well

I have TEIN HA's on my car and on the softest setting the ride quality is really quite good.

I also have the Whiteline front lower suspension arm bushes which has sharpened the steering up nicely

Agreed, if you have the cash go for the JIC's

I think CW only recommends about a 10mm drop for the Supra. Teins advised ride height is about the same.

What's the general opinion of the JIC's?

I'd be interested in what CW has to say..

I have JIC adjustables, not sure what type though http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif But i love the way the car handles.

I've been recently looking at suspension options too and noticed no-one's suggested the HKS Hypermax II's that I was looking at. Are they no good?

I've heard people who've fitted them say they are OK (and also on other types of cars) but nothing definitive.

Fitted Cusco 2-zero to mine with strut braces. Found to be a little harsher than standard but not unacceptable. You must get geometary set up properly though whatever you fit.

That's very good advice. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/buttrock.gif

Can make such a difference to the way the car handles.

I've had CW's suspension for over 4 years now and it's superb, I highly recommend it.

HKS Hipermax shocks are fantastic, fitted a set to mine about 6 months ago and I'm well impressed. Soft setting is nice and smooth and hard setting is nice and firm, so adjust it to suit your needs.

Fitted a set of Koni's the other day, for the price ?99 a corner there worth considering although you do have to take them off the car to adjust them.

Cheers

I've heard nasty things about the HKS suspension seizing but I've never had a set on my car so I can't talk from experience.
