Hello all, greetings from your latest newbie in Bournemouth where there is a supra needing a service.

I owned a mkiii supra for 4 years. I used a local Toyota garage for its first service, not impressed. Tried the other local T garage for the second service. Similarly unimpressed. Used my local friendly mechanic Phil for the rest of the time and was quite happy.

I now have a mkiv. As talented as Phil is, neither of us want him touching it. I have taken it to another Toyota garage for its first service under my ownership on the vain hope T have improved their service over the years but to no avail. The mechanic's face said it all - "We don't get many of these, wouldn't you like a nice simple Yaris?"

So to cut a long story short ( Too late! ) can anyone recommend a decent independent (or even T dealership if not too far and actually any good) somewhere near me?

I have heard great things about Chris in Shropshire, Nathan in Barking, Leon in Milton Keynes etc etc but I'd rather go somewhere a bit closer if poss.

Although it is a good excuse for a drive.........

Ta muchly in advance

Steve

I can just picture the scene now.... 'Yes sir, we even have a T Sport edition in stock' http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Anyway on to your question.........

I've heard good reports from people who've had their cars serviced at Toyodatech in Fareham, which is obviously a bit closer to you.

The guys name is Stuart Sandy.

Thanks, Martin. I'm a big Star Wars fan, so toYODAtech sounds great (groan!http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I've checked out the members discounts page - nice!! I see Toyota at Salisbury are there, what is the discount they're offering and do they come recommended from anyone as they're listed on this site or did they contact you?

Any chance of getting Toyoda on the discount scheme? I see loads of Supes in my area (anyone on here?), if they find this site Toyoda could find themselves quite a bit more business.

Unfortunately we don't have experience of all the dealerships on the discounts scheme, but if anybody ever has any bad experiences they usually let members know. As for Salisbury Toyota they are offering 10% off parts and servicing so at least you can get something off the bill. Whether they are experienced on working on the Supra i can't say.

We can certainly approach Toyodatech, and its a good idea. Will let you know how we get on.

Thanks Martin, I'll hold off on booking a service and emptying my wallet needlessly until your reply. Good luck?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Any luck with the discount request? If not, thanks for trying and I'll use Toyodatech anyway as they come recommended. Thanks for the info. ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
