Does any1 out there know of a set of rear clusters that dont have the dirty orange indicator lens, and instead has a nice clear light with orange bulbs, have removed all other orange lenses i.e side repeaters standard indicators, this is last one.

So far i have bought a set of standard supra lights, removed the lenses (both orange and clear) from the light body-right pain in the a!$%E! machined down the clear lens to fit in the indicator slot and replaced the bulb for orange.

There must be an easier way?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif?

No such thing as a standard set of rear lights, there are 3 types.

I have a UK car and used the jap reversing lenses, they are a good fit for the UK indicator lens.

As for being an easy way, errrrr no not really unless you pay someone else to do it http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif

Envy can convert the rear lights from the facelift lights for you, so that the lights are just red and clear. The Envy car has them and looks good, they cost over ?300 though i think as you need two sets of lights.

Don't really know if I want to do another set off these it involves many hours of hard work and you tend to burn all the skin off your fingers. Your house also stinks for days!!! You also tend to wreck all the tools you are using as they get stuck up with the black gunk which hardens to plastic proportions when at room temperature.

For anyone thinking of doing this we keep the replacement bulbs for the 98> onwards rear lights in stock.

Thanks

lol...Kevin`s description pretty much sums it up http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

don`t think I`d like to attempt another set in a hurry.

That black sealant is something else..be prepared to bin anything it gets into contact with as you won`t be getting it off in a hurry.

Well at least i know im going down the right lines, it makes me feel better that everyone else has struggled with the rubber f"?%^&*s too. cheers. Just one other thing did you guys have any trouble re-sealing the light units, as the black rubber on mine has hardened out of position?, and womt sit flush with the outer casing??

Yep, once I put the lights back together I ran bathroom shower sealer right around the join to stop moisture getting in.
