Can anyone help me with this, i need a new central locking module which according to Toyota you can no longer get as a new part.
This part is situated behind the glove box which you have to take out to get at it.
Its about the size of a ciggy packet and plugs into the loom and the only fix is to replace it.
Does anyone know if a jap spec is the same or even better if anyone knows of a uk tt being broken for spares.
Pls call me if you can help 07970 733159
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the Anti theft ecu Martin, it might not be the ecu thats the problem, not sure now as the alarm has totally buggered up and wont disarm at all now, have car electrics guru coming on monday so hope you dont mind if i hang on to both the ecu's till this is sorted.

Any ideas ? would it be better idea to fit new alarm.

No problem hanging on to the bits.

If its the stock Toyota alarm you are still using then the keyfob and alarm ECU will need to be paired together. Don't know the procedure i'm afraid but a Toyota dealer might.

But that shouldn't stop the central locking working when you turn the key in the lock

Thanks Martin, give me somethink mechanical any day to fix, at least you can see when its broke !!! i really dont get on with car electrics.
Its still on the stock toyota alarm, the car was exactly the same with either ecu, everything wrked apart from you couldnt lock the doors on the remote but could open them on the remote and the c/locking off the key didnt work, but now it seems as though the alarm is jammed on, c/locking off the key doesnt work, the siren wrks really well which is begining to **** ** *ff.

Just got hold of a Toyota trained supra mechanic who seems like he knows his stuff and thinks the alarm has possibly spiked with a voltage surge, possibly when its been jump started.

He's coming to have a look on tuesday and is pretty sure he can get round the stock alarm system.

Think it will be getting a new alarm as long as he can disconnect the o/e system !

He wasnt very impressed when he lifted the carpet up on the passenger side, the picture says it all, wonder how long these would have worked for ?

Did you tell him to come onto the forum.

It's weird, but you don't really get (m)any forums with people who are fully trained specialists in said area. I mean there are specialists, but there all self trained, or trained through channels other than Toyota\Lexus.

would be nice to have `someone` from Toyota onboard but I can seem them getting pestered with more `chat` questions than anything tech based..

The fcd and bc were a nice tangled mess of wires, absolutely no time taken to do a proper neat and tidy job, im getting used to finding this kind of attention to detail on my car http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif If the guy that did this keeps doing work of this quality then i think it will only be a matter of time before he goes out of business with only himself to blame, but i guess i wouldnt have found this mess unless i'd had the alarm probs so if you cant see it it dont matter !!!

The toyota tech is very nice bloke but cant afford the time to chat on here and thinks he could be swamped with questions which he hasnt the time to deal with due to other commitments.
I'll give him a nudge when he fits my new alarm system, i think he's up for doing work on supras jap or uk but only service or fault finding no engine rebuilds im afraid
