Ive got a jap import non turbo supra. My problem is that the muffler at the back is a 'V' box. ie, it has two pipes going into it from each side of the car. Can I replace this whole system with a single pipe system like those on ebay, or does anyone know where I can get a replacement 5" outlet muffler??? The current muffler is ready for the skip. PLEASE HELP,appreciated

Well the good news is you can do either. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If you buy a replacement rear box, then a lot of the time these will bolt up to the two stock pipes coming over the back axle (one of the Blitz rear boxes connects like this). If you buy a full CAT-back system then it will be one pipe all the way through to the rear box.

So the choice is yours.

Carefull you dont end up with a mild steel coated exhaust (hks superdrager) like i did, go for st/st as the coated jobs rot from the inside.

yep agree totally with dunk, I`ve a dragger and it`s on it`s way out..shame really as I love the sound of it.

was quoted ?450 to replace the pipework with stainless...hahahahahaha

I opted for a new exhaust.

just hope I can get through the MOT this coming weekend as my new exhaust hasn`t arrived yet http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Will your cats be coming home then, or can your MOT tester get around it?

oh the cats aren`t a problem with the MOT guy, it`s the hole in the pipework of my exhaust http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I've yet to test this with my local garage, i really don't want to spend an extra ?40 having them swapped over again.

Looking at the powerflow systems that have a lifetime guarantee, getting a quote on Friday. Thanks for the help guys.:)

From what I've heard, powerflow make reasonable quality systems at a good price - all 'one piece welded'.

Thanks guys, Demon tweeks sorted out the back box to a 5" powerflow pipe for only ?128!!! not the same noise as a full new system I know, but it looks a million times better than the standard box. It'll do till I can afford a new system. Getting quotes at ?600.
