I dont know what some buttons do

Hi

Sorry if im bombarding the board but ive just got my car and have a tonne of questions.

Ive got 2 buttons i dont know what they do. One is just bellow the radio in the middle with 2 small blanked plates either side, it looks like a red light switch when i click it on it lights up but i have no idea what its doing.

Second i have a red button at the top of the auto box has some jap writing underneath it what does this do ??

The one in the middle below the radio may well be for the rear foglights.

As for the red button, check out the resources section on the main site, specifically the auto vs. manual article.

Brilliant ! when i click the red button foglight it is ! is it right that only one lights up ??

Im now clear on the other button now.

One thing i dont understand is the manual mode and the L and 2 gears on the auto stick.

It must be pretty easy to guess im a novice to a auto box.

Just want to add im chuffed to bits with my car !!!

L = 1st gear (launch)
2 = 2nd gear
D = 3rd Gear

Manual mode must be used with over drive off.
To get 4th gear you must be in 'D' (Drive) with overdrive on & manual mode off.

That turns manual mode on/off - you'll see the indicator just under the rev counter when it's on.
