My TT failed its MOT due to the front right suspension, i was expecting it anyway . I have an old set of JIC adjustables. So now its time to get something new. I am thinking Tein Super Street as i don't want to spend to much. Anyone ever used these? Or have a better sugestion? Going to give Envy a ring on Monday.

i got myself a set of hks hypermax2 from paul whiffin, these are probably a little dearer than the teins (which i was going to get) and the ride on the car now is a world away from where it was, its like owning a whole new car.

I got my suspension the other day so i just been to toyota. They say it will take 4-5 hours to fit all four, plus then they have to sort out alignment and stuff. They said about 300quid. Is that about normal?

An hour a corner doesnt sound far off but your paying Mr T's rates which are too high,,,,, ?75+ per hr over here last time i asked.

Havent you got any decent garages nr you as its not really a major technical job that needs a specialist or Toyota tbh.

Are your new shocks adjustable ? ride height, damping etc

My new shock are adjustable, i took the car to a normal garage but they said i would have to go to toyota as they need "special tools" for this job http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Well ive had the Teins on for a while now and i have to say there is no real difference to my old suspension. Same handling but maybe a tiny bit more comfort. I have never driven a supe with stock suspension so i can't really compare it to that. To be honest it feels like ive wasted over a grand http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif (i had to get the top mounts too) At least it will pass its MOT now though

I suppose it depends how bad the old shocks were as to how much differance the new will make.
Why did they fail the mot ?

I have the stock suspension on my car and its fine now ive done a roll bar upgrade to the Trd roll bars.
The car could do with coming down a bit in ride height but only an inch max.

I have no idea why it failed. They give me a print with lots of figures on it. Each corner was putting out about 80 percent, but the front right only 30. I knew something was wrong anyway because i couldn't adjust that corner anymore. I should also mention its not exactly an MOT, its the German equivelent. I could have had a FMIC for that money http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/down.gif

A proper test then unlike here.

Here it just has to show x resistance and not be leaking.
