hi peeps,

does anyone know what sort of boost id be expecting on a uk car after the mods below?

1, hks panel filter
2, kakamoto cat-back zorts
3, 1st cat replaced with c/w decat pipe
(2nd cat still in place)

taking the car for a rolling road on friday and would like to get an idea of what boost i should expect.

i worried that i'll hit fuel cut, (1 bar i believe?) will i be ok?

cheers baz

i know if you replace middle cat with airfilter you should hit boost cut with cat back system i am not to sure about front cat replaced http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

Not the same on a UK spec car which baz, forgot to mention. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I reckon you'll see about 0.9bar, maybe just touch fuel cut at 1bar if they load the car heavily.

A UK car doesn't suffer from runaway boost once the CATs are removed so you shouldn't see stratospheric (sp?) boost.

As Martin said, should see boost not much different from stock. The ukspecs slightly larger wastegate wont give way to hideous boost creep.

Hi baz

have you fitted any of these bits yet ?

from my experience when I fitted my decat pipes you wont hit fuel cut while you still have a cat in there
its only when they are all gone and under full acceleration you will get near it

Also fuel cut does not just happen at a particular boost
its boost over time. which means you could be over 1 bar for a short period of time but will not see fuel cut

you need a boost gauge

and a boost controler of some sort

1.2 bar is were the fun is at ? http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

When fuel cut happens, does the warning light and the engine diagnostic light come on on the dash?....cos I think mine did!?! http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shocked.gif

Andy

when fuel cut happens it will feel like the car has just stopped all of a sudden. like a big jolt

and yes these lights come on just for a second or so
