Guys, sounds cool is this a private thing or can new members like myself come along , would like to meet all the 'old timers' (snigger, snigger)

Martin F
6th September 2005, 09:00 PM
It's open to all members old and new, that's one of the reasons why we try to hold it fairly central (Rugby to be exact).

More details to follow.

Funnily enough I tried that *extra cold Guinness* or whatever it's called the other week, & I have to say it hit the spot just like ale does. I really can't stand lager (read - pop) of any kind.

We are hoping to offer something in the morning, if we can't get in at Thor then we may visit a Go-Kart track or something http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Will try and sort out some times closer to the event, so those that only want to turn up for the afternoon can meet us direct at the hotel.

so what sort of price are we looking at for this party? Roomwise and ticket wise i mean.

~Rob~
12th October 2005, 04:34 PM
Remo, the summer meet was a fiver for the BBQ and if you wanted to stay over at the hotel there was a special rate available. think it was about ?35 for the hotel room but dont quote me. Im sure Chris will pop up some prices soon enough!

Martin F
12th October 2005, 07:04 PM
Chris is away at the moment, but should get some prices when he's back.

We are looking at something like a carvery this time with the obligatory turkey (other choices including veggie as well), more details to follow.

Have one question to ask so will put a poll up in the off-topic section in a minute.

Chris Rocks

in all honesty there probably isn`t going to be time to organise a sizeable meet at Thor.

I`d imagine a few people might head over prior to the meet, but the majority of people I`d guess would be turning up at the Hotel between 11-12...

on a sat you`re looking at about 30-40 mins to get from Thor > Hillmorton Manor Hotel.

Chris Rocks

Hey Guys

I'm local to Rugby (I live in Warwick) so I'll be sure to meet you there for a lunch and chat. I drive a low mileage 96 White MKIV (had it for about 3 years) and have lurked on owners groups boards for a while now.

Hillmorton Hotel is pretty much next to where my ex worked so I'll have no problem finding it etc. Im up for attending a lunch and getting to know you people (especially if your local). I see a few Supra round these parts but never got the chance to talk.

If anyone wants to join up prior in Warwick and gumball it to Thor (I had my car derestricted and Scorpion Exhaust fitted there) be sure to mail me: info@jezworld.com.

Hope to see you there. I'll be in this:

Sorry guys things arent good with me at the moment and dont look like there going to be any better any time soon.

Been out of work for far too long now and getting really impressed how employers treat disabled people.

Lost count of job applications etc ive made in the last year most with no reply http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif thought i'd got myself sorted with an American comp who are big in the aerospace world, had a grt interview the job looked a doddle from what ive been used to in the engineering world but they came back to my agent with sorry we think he'd be a liability on the shop floor.

Oh well im still looking and poss thinking of re training to do something else, any ideas http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
Think i'll have to start my own something or other up at this rate,,,, and to rub some salt in the wounds some more !! that nice house in the US looks like its going pearshaped as well and could be for sale very soon http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
+ my car is still sat in my garage with missfire.

Dunk, really sorry to hear your news, being disabled myself I really feel for you regarding the job situation. The best positive advice I can give you is contact your local Job Centre and talk to someone who works for the "Back to Work Team" or similar. They help people like us to find work and although in my case, they have advised me that medicaly I'm not in a position to work they have given me a lot of support in all possible areas.

Again, sad to hear your business venture in the States is looking somewhat shakey, hang in there fella I'm sure things will come good for you..........wishing you the very best of luck on both fronts.

If it's of any use, regarding the xmas meet, I would be more than happy to pick you up on the Saturday/drop you home on the Sunday, and as Karen is no longer going I still have a double room booked so if you don't mind sharing and Darrell can sort out two single beds (gotta draw the line there! ) it's a free weekend all round, all you would need is a bit of dosh for the meal and a few beers......how about it fella ??

Hey guys

Nice meeting you all - I found you all very friendly and really enjoyed the day. I especially enjoyed the "cruise" over to Rugby. What a feeling driving within a squadron of Supras - superb. Food was great and if I wasnt suffering from a hangover the previous night I probably would have been able to hold a decent conversation...

I'll definitly be attending the next event and will probably be speaking with some of you guys soon. I need to talk further with Dunk about my white WORK wheels which seem to suffer each winter...
BTW - have pictures too so will happily host mine plus others if we want to add them to a gallery etc.
