Im new http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif first off great site i had a real good look around trying to find a forum for the supra but most i found were for the US so im very glad to have found this one and with so much info i dont think i have to look anymore http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/worship.gif
i dont have a supra yet but im looking i want the twin turbo 6 speed uk really but i can see its not going to be easy finding one so it may well be an import for me plus iv only really got about ?9000 to spend on one so the uk tt might be out for me unless i found one cheap. Iv phoned around looking for insurance so far elephant have come out on top

uk tt = ?760 comp
import tt = ?1130 comp
im still waiting for one to come back to me its the one listed on this site so fingers cross http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
there is something i wasnt to sure about BUP from www.suprastore.com has anyone here used them or the parts in the kit 140hp seems a lot to get out of the bits in the kit im just a little unsure is it just that the boost is taken up to get that sort out power and can anyone tell me if the car is happy to run like that?

thanks all
great to be on here looking farward to getting my first twin turbo

Hi and ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/welcome.gif

There are a few UK sites, although this one is free, you get discount from some of the traders (see announcements) ?we have an insurance deal (if you are over 25), excellent Supra knowledge (not from me though lol) and we are a nice bunch on here http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif

I would be interested to see how Livingstones' quote compares to what you have been quoted so far.

I don't think Suprastore give very good service, I am sure one of the more knowledgeable people on here can tell you more.

Adrian Flux (08700 772233) have been good to me in the past, but since I discovered this site I may well try Livingstone's meself at next renewal. Be interesting to see what deal they do you. Good luck!

And good luck keeping that license clean with a supra under your right foot!

hi ian,
i'm new here as well. i bought my supra about a month ago. i'd been looking for about 3 months and i finally found a uk tt auto. i was gob smacked at my insurance premium. the quote i had for j-spec was about ?800, but after i bought this car my premium was only ?500 - cheaper than my 200bhp honda prelude by ?50. i'm with direct line by the way.
if you've got the patience i'd recommend waiting untill a decent uk car turns up. i've got nothing against j-specs, but ?300 is a lot of money.

It does make you wonder exactly how many UK cars are left. I am amazed so many are popping up!

Hi Ian

Defenitely steer clear of Suprastore, i have not heard anybody that has a good word to say about them. Tend to use their website for reference only.

nice one dudes yeah i think i will wait for a uk if i can iv got wheels to keep me going at the mo i was reading in another post about waiting till x-mas when people sell there cars and stuff i did want to try and get one in the next month or so but if iv got to wait iv got to wait i want to make sure i get the one i want http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
thanks for the info on suprastore i had sent them an email asking how they get the 460hp from the BUP just putting the boost up to 18psi so ill just get the bits over here so i dont have to mess around with airmail and that.
i phoned another insurance place today they said i was looking at around ?1900 and thought i was telling lies about elephant at the end of it he said call them back and check thats right because its to cheap lol but just to be on the safe side i did call them
import supra tt
full comp 10 months = 1119
full comp 12 months = 1285
uk tt
full comp 12 months = 762 http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
ill give Adrian Flux,direct line a call tomorrow after work and ill give Livingstones a call back to see how the got on. but 1285 aint to bad its the most iv payed for insurance apart from when i was 18 and had all my points but its not the end of the world and it is one hell of a lot of car http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif plus with a bit of luck and time ill get the uk one
thanks again guys
btw Cuthbert if you dont mind me asking how old are you?

hi ian,

i'm 26, almost 27. i was reading somewhere in the paper many months ago about all the 'uknowns' which affect car insurance. not sure how much of this is true but apparently black cars crash more often and greens the least. solicitors and factory workers are the lowest risk. i can't remember the rest.
from my experience car on the driveway or in the garage makes no difference. a tracker doesn't really cut premium but you may not be covered for theft if you don't have one. second cars on low annual mileage gives a discount too.

Hi Ian http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/welcome.gif

I can confirm Bell Direct are very good, mines under ?500 with them for a modded UKTTauto only draw back is they only replace with standard parts in the event of a claim http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
