im going to try and diagoisis the problem with my car this weekend.

i need as much information as possible on the prop shaft, diff etc.

ive been getting a rubbing sound, this as now been joined by a knocking sound when speeding/braking quickly. its been in to a garage, and its not the brakes or bearings as first thought.

all input welcomed peeps..........need my car on the road.

Apologies if i'm stating the obvious here, but you have checked the diff fluid?

Just thinking about how the UK diff coolers are known to rot and obviously if this goes unchecked you could loose all your fluid.

i havent checked the fluid yet, but will do.

whats the easiest way to do this martyn?

Take the bung out and stick your finger in the hole ! :D

There's a fill plug on the back of the diff about half way up, when you remove it the fluid should be level with the bottom of the hole. Make sure the car is level when checking.
