Occasionaly I have noticed whilst waiting at traffic lights that the speedo needle flickers abit. Sometimes as much as 0-20mph.
It doesn't cause any real problems but just wondered if theres a simple solution. Are these cars on cable or are they electronic?

It's an electronic speedo and from what you are describing it sounds like a noisy speedo converter.

Either it has a poor ground connection (could be it has worked its way loose or has become damp) or the unit is of poor quality is noisy in general.
