after just stripping out my speedo , i find i cannot remove the needle, i have tried pulling (not to hard) but it will not budge, is there some kind of combination to get it off or am i not pulling hard enough. i do not want to end up with the whole dash in my lap.

I've heard these can be a real bugger to remove.
Apparently a good technique is to use two spoons under either side of the needle and lever it off.
