I thought one of the advantages of the OS giken clutches was the fact that they could be rebuilt once worn out, hence justifying some of the initial cost.
You can extend the rod if you're ingenious enough and have access to a machine shop or similar tools. You could also modify the fork by welding it at the point where the push rod touches, but it's a bit extreme (although I know people who have done it).
