Default Oil changes....?????

Hello again..(Ahmm),I look after quite a few Scoobies/Evo`s eta,Now,When i do the oil changes on either of these vehicles...I always remove the crankshaft sensor on the scoobies...(A Must on these)....And,Disconnect the coilpack connection on the evo`s.....Both of this to mentain a healthy oil pressure before starting the engines to lessen the chance of damage done to the bigends and crankshaft due to the vital seconds of lack of lubrication till the engine`s oil pressure is acheived through its own power....On the subaru,The oil pickup pipe and galleys to the oil pump are a very lengthy process....And the crankshaft turns dozens of cycles without any oil pressure,The damage is accumulative,And,this and other things like wrong grade of fuel tend to take their toll by the time 50k(ish) miles has been covered....Also,Entering the equasion are the fact the big end bearings are small in width makes the pressure more vital......With this in mind,Do you disconnect the crank sensor or coil pack plugs on the supra please....???Or do you have another method to mentain oil pressure after an oil change....????...Thanks.....Kev.

Personally i never usually worry about it as an oil change doesn't take forever and the viscosity of the oil means that it will be clinging to a lot of surfaces anyway.

However if the car has been standing for a long time then i do remove the EFI1 & 2 fuses, crank it a few times then replace and start.

I had a dig around last night trying to find a picture of the fuse box. I'm sure I had one somewhere. I'll have another look.

Here's where EFI1 lives. EFI2 could well be the one below it. (I'm wondering whether Toyota have printed the fuse numbers on the inside of the fuse box lid. That would make sense)

This is taken from the mkiv guide to resetting the ecu.
