Engine Rebuild and Single Upgrade
As some of you know, I had some problems with my engine last year, which turned out to be an oil related issue. This involved replacing the head as it had picked up. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the bottom end had slightly picked up also.
I could’ve simply put in a complete second hand engine, however there’s no promising that engine would be any good, so decided on rebuilding my engine. I also decided that it seemed crazy to put all the stock TT system back on, so looked at going single. As some of you know this is an endless task and there really is so much information around but no definitive answer. I may not earn great money but I'm not interested in doing a project like this on a shoe string, that's one of the reasons for me taking so long to get to this stage. I'm working every weekend to pay for it. I'm interested in doing the job properly and once After months of searching on the internet and talking to people, I have finally completed my spec: Engine rebore with 86.5mm CP pistons Modified oil pump New water pump ARP Rod, main bearing and head bolts Bottom end rebuild by CW Head rebuild by CW New Fluidyne Radiator Oil Cooler HKS 264/264 cams CW modified Clutch and housing New OEM flywheel New OEM damper pulley Balanced crank, flywheel, clutch and pulley OEM Gasket set TRD Engine mounts SP manifold with Tial 44mm wastegate with screamer pipe SP 4" downpipe and midpipe T61 turbo with 0.81 A/R exhaust housing AEM EMU ECU HKS DLI AEM Wideband O2 sensor and gauge Aeromotive FRP BL oil lines PHR Fuel rail 720cc injectors (Siemens) Braided fuel lines I still have a few things I need to get but I’m on my way I’m going to be dropping the block off at CW’s the weekend.

Wow mate. You're going to build a hell of a car.
Given that you're got everything in pieces it seems a shame to refit any old bits. If you can be without your car for a while and can get the money together then go for it. I take it the car wont be ready for JAE though....

I for one can't wait to see the finished car, Kev has done just about everything possible to ensure a near perfect rebuild and his time and dedication to the project has to be commended.
Kev, I hope when finished it rewards you with many happy years......................now get that stocking on your head and visit a few banks to pay for it

I can't wait too, but it will be good to see the progress on here until such time as seeing the car in the flesh.
Good Luck Kev

I admire this build as it is being done using the best possible parts (without taking a mortgage) and, like me, Kev is doing a vast amount of work himself
