Please can someone help me, i am a proud owner of a 1995 Supra SZ but unfortunatly she is still restricted to 120mph. The car has been put through the SVA and is now fitted with U.K mph clocks, i was wandering if it is possible to have the speed restrictor removed without going back the the kph clocks, as this is what i have been told i would have to do by one company! Thanx ?http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

There's no need for resorting back to kph at all, they obviously do not know what they are talking about.

You need a "speed limit remover" (various names for these) everal of the traders sell them perhaps have a look around on the site or the for sale section at mkivsupra.net and pick out a few and ring them. I know Pete at TRL performance sells them.

Hope this helps

Dan

Edit: I would post some links but am literally going out the door. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Thats odd, but then i know Pete is pretty busy. Try dropping him a PM through this board, it may work.

I know you shouldn't have to pursue traders when you're trying to buy something but i'd strongly advise that you fit a TRL converter as your problems will be sorted in one go.

TRL produce a fantastic piece of kit and in my experience ?have over the odds aftersales service. I fitted my box from them with advice from their website and when it didn't work properly I received alot of over the phone advice. They offered to send me a replacement box even though I had cut some of the wires on it and despite the fact that the probability was very high that it was my car at fault.

Funny old thing after yet more time on the phone and a lot of scouring my leccy system I found the fault which was a dodgy itermittent earth on my car.

Unless the guys are all on holiday keep trying their phone number and be prepared to be impressed lol

O BTW you are limited to 112 mph its a common thing for soop speedo's to over read and typical of them to show 120 mph at 112 mph. The TRL box will allow you calibrate this problem out if you have access to a gps setup.
