Paul Whiffin is the only person I know with the AC removed, might be worth sending him a mail.

I have one of these bloody great big assemblies up in my loft at the moment. http://www.mkivsupra.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif

As far as i can tell you can disconnect the AC and the heating part should still work. Is that what you mean't ?

Yes.....it would be good to be rid of that bit ...weighs quite a lot...and seeing as I'm not refitting the aircon stuff in the engine bay.....trying to lose about 100kg in total
cheers

The heater box itself only contains the evaporator, air con wise which weighs next to nothing. Main weight is compressor and condensor, in front of the water rad. Having said that modern alloy bodied compressors and alloy condensors are light compared to 70's stuff. I removed EVERYTHING, air con wise from my RX-7 and saved 48 pounds. The Supra will be similar. 220 pounds is a lot to lose, look at binning seat motors, electric window stuff, electric mirrors, all ICE stuff, smaller battery, all the ABS, lighweight discs on alloy bells, lightweight calipers, that sort of stuff. the car rapidly turns into a track day special...
