Has anyone out there in supra land got an original mk.4 supra speedo that they can sell me. the reason being when i bought my car from the "importer" (joker) he said he had put a stick on dial over the original head, knowing no better at the time i just took his word for it. I have started on a campaign to properly refurb. the car and the first thing was to take it to hyline in cardiff to have the speedo properly electronically set. they have done this but found out that the original head was missing and a rag bag 110mph head fitted. hyline have told me that the best thing to do is sourse the original part. if not what is the best alternative, i am sure that someone on this forum can come up with the answer, good as you all are

I think that you will find that is the original Jap 180 kmh speedo which is about 110mph.

Using the original 180kmh face for a 180mph readout is quite normal and a lot of guys do it after the converter has been fitted.

thanks martin, the only thing i cannot understand is that the mph is on the larger outer scale and the kilos is on the small inner scale, would that be the original speedo.

Errrr that doesn't sound like it, wonder if somebody's fitted a dodgy face to it.

Maybe your first idea of fitting a genuine one is the best idea after all. Somebody should have one or possibly a scrap yard specialising in Jap cars
